Fairies & Original Characters

A proposed project for a fairy coloring book in the 1990s instead provided a wealth of inspiration and creativity that continues today. Many of these works have continued to evolve into independent artworks included in print sales and other merchandise. Other private projects including characters and stories from clients as well as my own narrative ideas are constantly developing over time.

Much More to Come!

Several of the most recent projects from clients have been requested as either line art or grayscale images, but my initial compositions are almost always imagined in color. I have used these original illustrations as an opportunity to experiment and develop these images in full color, sometime changing the composition themselves to play with the narrative or emphasize different parts of the stories within.

For more than 30 years, portrait drawing and painting has been a particular passion.  Whether produced on commission or provided as gifts to friends and family combining technical skill and creativity to capture a moment in time for the subject is one of the cornerstones for my practice.  It was a surprise and honor to discover two of my portraits were featured in the HBO Max production, "Ren Faire," as they are displayed in the home of the General Manager, Jeffrey Baldwin, during the production.

As a consideration for the privacy of these subjects, I will only post images with the permission of the client, or if said portraits have already been published or otherwise publicly displayed.

My first priority is and always will be to my family and that means my time to create is limited to what I can spare from "real" life.  I'm sure most people feel the same, but I have a continuously growing list of new ideas to share and new products to provide for those who appreciate my work.

I will update my portfolio page with more illustrations from my recent clients that I still want to share, along with new projects as often as possible and will be posting the existing collection on my socials with some extra details and notes in the coming weeks.  So please feel free to follow me online, or sign up for my email list so I can give notice when I will be selling autographed prints or participating in panels or other events in the Houston Area and beyond.

I also hope to start an online store here soon, as well, so stay tuned!
